Patron (n.); pater (genitive patris) "father" (see father (n.)). Meaning "one who advances the cause" (of an artist, institution, etc.)

At the time of the renaissance in Europe, many artists were supported by generous patrons who provided them with food, shelter and financial support so that they could create beautiful things. Here, patronage (or membership) is built with the Patreon platform and unlike other membership websites, it hinges on the idea that you decide how much you want to contribute based on the value you receive from the content creators produce.

For creators, Patreon is a way to generate an income by sharing the stuff we make with people who like to consume it. Design work, crafts, video production, whacky garage projects, art, fashion, you name it. If you make something and want to make a few quid from it, or even a living, then Patreon is no a bad place to start.

For fans and supporters, Patreon is a way to connect with artists, writers, musicians, videographers, podcast producers, and whacky garage project dudes and help them out by pledging a couple of quid per month so that they can keep making cool stuff.

You can decide what exactly you want to contribute from zero upwards to whatever level you wish. However, I have made patronage levels with specific rewards that you can sign up for. See the Patronage Levels above for details.

Again, you decide. Maybe you want to support my work for only one month, maybe one year or maybe for the foreseeable future. You get to opt in or out, or change your patronage level at your own discretion. Just login to your account and set the patronage level you wish.

There are five preset patrons levels starting at €0 up to €50/month. I made three of these visible above simply because there was not the page width to display all five. So here's a break down of all five patron levels.

€0 LEVEL - Access To Patron Content

At the zero level you'll be essentially following the material I create and publish. Material such as articles, videos, photos and other content. Some content I create will not be accessible at the zero level and you'll need to upgrade to view it.

€1 LEVEL - Increased Access To Patron Content

At the €1 patron level you'll have increased access to patron only content, receive the short form version of The Artist's Manifesto, help me keep the podcast advert free, 10% off my books and merch and generally support me in my work.

€5 LEVEL - Buy Me A Pint, Plus...

At the €5 level of patronage, you'll receive the lower tier rewards, help me self-publish The Artist's Manifesto, get your name mentioned in the book acknowledgements section, and a paperback copy of The Artist's Manifesto.

€10 LEVEL - Get The MP3 Audiobook

Things are picking up a tad at this level of patronage. Your contribution helps make a difference to the work I do to a more significant degree. At this level you get access to all the lower tier rewards plus The Artist's Manifesto MP3 audiobook and the 21 limited edition postcard prints. You can find out about the postcards here.

€50 LEVEL - Premium Level Rewards

The €50 level is currently the top level reward you can access. If you really dig the stuff I make then this patronage level is for you. Like all patronage levels, the €50 level might be a once off contribution and if so that's very welcome indeed. At this level you get all lower level rewards plus signed first edition paperback, and The Artist's Manifesto Journal currently in design.

When you click any of the buttons on this page you will be directed to the Patreon website where your payment details will be recorded and your account set up. After you have successfully set up your account, you can login here. 

When you sign up at Patreon, you will be prompted to add your postal address depending on the tier of patronage you choose (the lower tiers don't require a postal address). Physical products will then be posted to you. Digital products like PDF and MP3 links will be emailed to you.

If for some reason you didn't receive the patronage rewards you were expecting, firstly, check your account and verify the reward tier you're currently on is accurate. If something is still amiss, shoot me an email and I'll sort it out for you.
